RESTORATIVE DENTISTRY IN HONDO, TX
Today’s dental materials and techniques make it possible to repair most damaged teeth so they look natural and work the way they should. Your Hondo dentist, Dr. Dheeraj Kumar Koli, DDS, brings more than 16 years of experience to every restoration. He starts with a thorough exam and X-rays, explains what he finds in plain language, and walks you through your options before any treatment begins.
Dental Fillings
Fillings repair cavities and small chips before decay spreads deeper into the tooth. Catching a cavity early usually means a smaller, simpler repair and a lower cost. Learn more about dental fillings.
Dental Crowns
A crown is a custom cap that covers a tooth weakened by a large cavity, a crack, or a root canal. It protects what is left of your natural tooth and restores a comfortable, even bite. Learn more about dental crowns.
Dental Bridges
A bridge fills the gap left by one or more missing teeth by anchoring replacement teeth to the healthy teeth on either side. Closing the gap helps keep neighboring teeth from shifting out of place. Learn more about dental bridges.
Dental Implants
An implant replaces a missing tooth from the root up, giving you a stable, long-lasting result that looks and feels like a natural tooth. Implants can also anchor crowns, bridges, and dentures, so you can get dependable tooth replacement close to home instead of driving to San Antonio. Learn more about dental implants.
Dentures
Full, partial, and implant-retained dentures replace several or all of your teeth so you can eat, speak, and smile with confidence again. Our team also helps with denture relines and repairs when your current denture no longer fits well. Learn more about dentures.
Non-Surgical Root Canal Therapy
When infection or deep decay reaches the nerve of a tooth, a root canal removes the damaged tissue, relieves the pain, and lets you keep your natural tooth instead of losing it. Learn more about root canal treatment.
SIGNS YOU MAY NEED A RESTORATION
Call us if you notice a toothache that lingers, sensitivity to hot or cold, a chipped or cracked tooth, a lost filling or crown, swelling near a tooth, or a gap from a missing tooth. These problems rarely get better on their own, and treating them early is usually easier, faster, and less costly.

RESTORATIVE DENTISTRY FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions About Restorative Dentistry in Hondo
Answers from Dr. Koli and the Fiesta Dental team
What is restorative dentistry?
Restorative dentistry is the branch of dental care that repairs or replaces damaged and missing teeth. It includes fillings, crowns, bridges, dental implants, dentures, and root canal therapy. The goal is to bring back healthy function so you can chew, speak, and smile comfortably.
How do I know if I need a filling, crown, or root canal?
It depends on how much of the tooth is damaged. A small cavity can usually be treated with a filling. A tooth with a large cavity or a crack often needs a crown for protection. If decay or infection has reached the nerve, a root canal may be needed to save the tooth. Dr. Koli will examine the tooth, take X-rays, and recommend the simplest treatment that will last.
Is a root canal painful?
Most patients say a root canal feels much like getting a filling. The area is numbed before treatment begins, and the procedure is designed to relieve the pain caused by an infected tooth. Some tenderness for a few days afterward is normal and usually eases with over-the-counter pain relief.
How long do fillings and crowns last?
With good care, fillings and crowns can last for many years. How long yours lasts depends on the material used, the size of the restoration, your bite, and habits like grinding your teeth. Brushing twice a day, flossing, and keeping up with regular checkups at our Hondo office help your restorations last as long as possible.
Should I choose an implant, a bridge, or a denture to replace a missing tooth?
Each option has its place. An implant replaces the tooth root and does not rely on neighboring teeth. A bridge uses the teeth on either side of the gap for support. A denture is often the best choice when several or all teeth are missing. The right option depends on how many teeth are missing, the health of your gums and jawbone, and your budget. Dr. Koli will review the pros and cons of each with you.
Does insurance or Medicaid cover restorative dental work?
Fiesta Dental accepts Texas Medicaid, CHIP, and most PPO dental plans. Coverage depends on your plan and the treatment you need. Our team will check your benefits and explain your out-of-pocket costs before treatment begins. If you do not have insurance, ask us about payment options.
Can I walk in with a toothache or a broken tooth?
Yes. If you have tooth pain, you can walk in to our Hondo office Monday through Friday between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, and we will do everything we can to see you that day. Calling ahead at (830) 581-2621 helps us prepare for your visit.
